The happiest song about a broken back that you’re likely to hear! I love the part when I sing about my life being a series of crashes and Blackie hits a series of crash cymbals. That Blackie character is a gem and we are going to star in a reality TV series “Bros Be For Hoes”. I kind of forget the specifics, but it follows us as we garden together. The garden is, of course, a metaphor for society and ultimately, our relationship.
lyrics
My back’s completely broken
I know you don’t feel the same
But it’s your kind words and love that keeps me goin’
You help to brighten up my day
My life’s been a series of crashes (cymbals go crash crash etc.)
Up and down the whole way through
But as far as grades go, I’m happy to say it passes
And I’ve been lucky to have you
My back’s completely broken
I know you don’t feel the same
But it’s your kind words and love that keeps me goin’
You help to brighten up my day
Whoever said this would be easy
Never walked a mile with me (or laid up in a bed for a week)
But I don’t complain ‘cause with who I am I’m happy
And I know that you’re happy with me
My back’s completely broken
I know you don’t feel the same
But it’s your kind words and love that keeps me goin’
You help to brighten up my day
My back’s completely broken
And I’m glad that you don’t feel the same
And I don’t need the sympathy, but I love the love you’re showin’
And I’ve got drugs to kill the pain
Friends and family to keep me sane
You helped me to see a brighter today
